Attendance
It is the responsibility of the parent/guardian to see that their child attends school regularly and on time. Frequent absences and/or tardiness causes the child to miss the full benefits of planned educational activities and this in turn demonstrates to the child your lack of concern for the student's education.
Please call to notify the office if your child will be absent for that day and the reason for absence. If the school does not hear from you, the school will notify the parent each day the child is absent. This procedure is intended to be a safeguard for your child.
If a student has been absent from school, the student needs to bring a note to his homeroom teacher, signed by a parent/guardian stating the reason for the absence. Excessive absences and/or tardiness will be handled by Social Services. Missed work can be picked up in the office at the end of the day, providing prior arrangements have been made. Perfect attendance is based on a child not being absent at anytime during the school year.
