Bluejacket PRIDE
What is PRIDE all about?
The Hibbing School District is committed to maintaining positive and respectful behavior. Bluejacket PRIDE helps to promote character education throughout the district by encouraging and supporting positive school behavior. The following are efforts being taken or planned, to promote this within the schools and the community.
1. Please take a look at the attached Power Point, which helps to explain what the initiative is all about.
2. Junior Jacket PRIDE posters
The poster below will be displayed throughout the elementaries to help provide students with ongoing examples of what Jr. Jacket PRIDE is.
3. Bluejacket PRIDE posters
This poster is designed more for older elementary and high school students. Synonyms rather than examples are provided to demonstrate there are many ways to show school spirit and PRIDE.
4. School PRIDE Citations
The Hibbing School District works hard at recognizing student achievements and good behavior. The School PRIDE Citation is an additional way of rewarding students who are hard working and/or show good manners. This form was designed by the Hibbing High School art department.
5. Bullying in school.
The attached PDF is a series of 4 handouts that addresses this topic entitled “Bullying- Both Sides of the Fence”. This series touches upon the common terminology used, types of bullying, what can be done to stop bullying, and what to do if your child is bullying others. Having an understanding of what constitutes and contributes to bullying can help parents and school staff to work together at addressing this difficult topic. CLICK HERE for one of the better anti-bullying videos we've come across in quite a few years. Very touching.
