The school board shall hold its annual organizational meeting during the first regular board meeting in January. The board shall select a chair, a chair pro-tem, a clerk, and a treasurer who shall then hold their respective offices for one year or until their successors have been selected. The superintendent shall be an ex-officio member of the school board.
The chair shall preside at all meetings of the school board, countersign all orders upon the treasurer for claims allowed by the school board, sign all contracts or agreements approved by the school board, represent the school district in all actions, and perform other appropriate duties for the district.
The chair pro-tem shall preside at meetings of the school board when the chair is absent.
The clerk shall perform those duties prescribed by law and policy.
The treasurer shall perform those duties prescribed by law and policy.
