New school board members will be provided assistance regarding the school board’s functions, policies, and procedures and the opportunity to attend available orientation and training sessions.

Prior to assuming office, new members will be invited to attend all open meetings and functions of the school board and receive all reports and communications sent to school board members, except private or confidential data.

School board members are encouraged to participate in school board and related workshops and activities sponsored by local, state, and national school boards associations, as well as in the activities of other educational groups.

Funds for participation in these activities will be budgeted and school board members will be reimbursed for necessary expenses within the approved procedures and budget allocations of the school district.
