History

Greenhaven Elementary School History

Greenhaven Elementary School construction started in 1954 and was finished in 1955. Our building was designed to house three sections of each grade from Kindergarten through sixth grade. In 2001 the mascot for the school changed from the gopher to the greyhound to reflect the heritage of the famous bus line that started in Hibbing. There have also been many changes to the building make-up since the first classes entered. Today Greenhaven Elementary School houses the early childhood programs and grades K-2 and our Jr. 'Jackets have Hibbing Spirit!
